Acceptable Use Policy

Rules for using The Platinum Capital and our related services. The short version: use them lawfully, in good faith, and considerately.

Effective 29 April 2026 · Last updated 29 April 2026

Section 01

Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to anyone who accesses or uses www.theplatinumcapital.com or any related service operated by TPC Media Ltd (collectively, the “Services”). It supplements our Terms of Use; defined terms in those Terms have the same meaning here.

Using the Services means agreeing to use them in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Services.

Section 02

General principles

Use the Services lawfully, in good faith, and with consideration for the rights and experience of others. Do not interfere with the operation of the Services or with other users’ access to them.

You are responsible for everything you submit, post, or transmit through the Services, including content sent through the contact form, story-tip submissions, awards nominations, and any other input mechanism.

Section 03

Prohibited activities

You agree not to do, attempt to do, or facilitate any of the following:

Illegal or harmful conduct

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or in furtherance of any unlawful activity.
  • Submit content that is defamatory, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, or designed to incite violence or hatred.
  • Submit content that infringes the intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any person.
  • Use the Services to send unsolicited bulk communications (spam) of any kind.

Security and integrity

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network operated by us, except in good-faith coordinated disclosure (see below).
  • Interfere with the operation of the Services, including by uploading malware, denial-of-service attacks, or attempts to overload our systems.
  • Bypass or attempt to bypass any access control, rate limit, paywall (if introduced in future), or authentication mechanism.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation.

Automated access and data extraction

  • Crawl, scrape, harvest, mirror, or index the Services beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt and good-faith user-agent practice.
  • Use our content (whether obtained directly, via RSS, or through any other channel) to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning models without an explicit licence agreement.
  • Re-publish, syndicate, or commercially redistribute substantial portions of our content without prior written permission.

Account abuse

  • Create accounts using false identities, bots, or automated systems.
  • Sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your account to anyone else.
  • Use another user’s account without their permission.

Section 04

User submissions

When you submit a contact-form message, story tip, awards nomination, or any other content, you confirm that:

  • The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • You have the right to share it (including any documents you attach or link to).
  • The submission does not contain confidential information you are not authorised to share, or material that infringes another person’s rights.

We have no obligation to publish or act on any submission. We may edit, summarise, or paraphrase submissions in line with our Editorial Policy.

Section 05

Security research and responsible disclosure

We welcome security research conducted in good faith. If you believe you have identified a vulnerability in the Services, please report it to security@theplatinumcapital.com.

When you report in good faith, do not access user data beyond what is necessary to demonstrate the issue, do not exploit the vulnerability beyond proof-of-concept, and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate before public disclosure. We will not pursue legal action against researchers who comply with these conditions.

Section 06

Reporting violations

If you believe someone is using the Services in breach of this policy, please report it to abuse@theplatinumcapital.com. Include as much detail as you can: relevant URLs, screenshots, timestamps, and the nature of the concern. We review every report.

Section 07

Consequences of breach

If we determine that you have breached this policy or our Terms of Use, we may take any combination of the following actions, depending on the severity:

  • Issue a warning.
  • Suspend or terminate your account.
  • Block your IP address or device from accessing the Services.
  • Remove offending content.
  • Refer the matter to law-enforcement authorities or regulators.
  • Pursue legal action, including for damages.

The list above is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to take any other action permitted by law that we consider proportionate.

Section 08

Changes to this policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page. For material changes, we will give reasonable advance notice on the homepage and, for registered users, by email.
