Morgan Watts: The Brisbane Founder Tying Marketing to the Revenue Line

Many growing businesses have had the same experience with marketing agencies: the invoices are clear, the results are not. Spend goes up, reports arrive, and nobody can say with confidence how much revenue the work produced. Brisbane-based Inside Edge Collective was built as an answer to that problem. Its founder, Morgan Watts, is a nominee for Founder of the Year at the TPC Awards 2026.

Beyond surface-level marketing

Inside Edge Collective (IEC), founded in 2025, works with service-based and trade businesses, typically companies turning over between A$1 million and A$25 million a year. Rather than selling individual marketing services, Watts has built the firm around what his nomination calls full-stack commercial interventions: offer architecture, paid media governance, custom CRM builds and operational sales enablement, run as one system.

The firm positions itself as an execution-first growth partner. Clients keep full ownership of their ad accounts, data and systems, and the emphasis throughout is on financial accountability: tying marketing activity directly to the revenue it generates.

The Diamond Air & Energy turnaround

The clearest illustration of the approach is IEC's work with Brisbane-based Diamond Air & Energy (DAE). According to the nomination, DAE came to IEC after spending more than A$100,000 with a previous agency without clear revenue attribution or scalable systems.

Within 30 days, Watts's team rebuilt DAE's strategy, paid media, CRM and tracking. Over the following six months, from June to November 2025, the figures submitted with the nomination show:

  • Monthly marketing-sourced revenue up 776%, from an average of A$45,800 to A$394,000
  • Six-month marketing revenue up from A$229,000 to A$1.185 million
  • Return on ad spend up from 3.35x to 19.64x, while total ad spend fell 12%
  • Lead-to-customer conversion up from 3.76% to 11.40%, and average order value up from A$4,320 to A$7,695
  • The founder's weekly time spent on marketing cut roughly in half, from more than 40 hours to around 20

A pattern across industries

DAE is not presented as a one-off. Across five years of work, Watts's operational framework is credited in his nomination with more than A$47 million in sales growth across 16 industries. The nomination cites a prefab tiny-home manufacturer, a national spa retailer, a pressure-washing operator, a solar business and a concrete-coating specialist among the clients that recorded several-fold increases in marketing revenue within months.

It also states that every client IEC has onboarded has achieved a three- to tenfold increase in marketing-sourced revenue within six months, a claim the firm backs with a 12-month return-on-investment guarantee.

Accountability as the product

What sets Watts's model apart is less any single tactic than the insistence that growth work be measurable from end to end. Custom dashboards, a data warehouse delivered within 30 days and clear attribution are built in from the start, so a business owner can see what the spend is producing.

For the trades and service firms that make up much of Australia's small and mid-sized business economy, that transparency is the point. His nomination rests on bringing financial accountability, operational transparency and measurable returns to the way growth consultancies work.

Morgan Watts is a nominee in the Founder of the Year category of the TPC Awards 2026. Figures are as provided in the nomination submission and are in Australian dollars.
